Our Story

From Puglia, Italy, With Love — The Heart Behind Pastaru Pastificio

Pastaru Pastificio began as a dream, thousands of miles away in a small kitchen in Puglia, Italy. Simone grew up watching his great-grandmother hand-roll pasta with the kind of care and tradition that only generations of love could pass down. It wasn’t just food—it was family, history, and connection, all rolled into one.

Years later, Simone brought that dream with him to Long Island, trading the sun-soaked coast of southern Italy for the vibrant community of Mineola. After years of working in restaurants across the island—learning, growing, and holding tight to his roots—he knew it was time. Time to create something of his own—something that felt like home.

Pastaru is more than a pasta shop. It’s a tribute to tradition, wrapped in a fresh, modern experience. Here, you’ll find handmade pasta made daily, rich sauces crafted from scratch, and the soul of Italian cooking in every bite. Whether you're stopping in for a quick takeout, picking up dinner for the family, or staying for a moment to savor, you're part of our story.

This is Simone’s dream—served fresh, with love.
